PIXEL MAGIC MEDIA PLAYER

Pixel Magic Systems has established an enviable reputation in the design and development of video processing /scaling products, with their Plasma Enhancer video processors, winning the prestigious Innovative Design and Engineering Award at the 2005 CES Expo.

As the first company in the world to develop a Linux-based video processor, Pixel Magic Systems is bringing broadcast video picture quality directly to the home theatre.

Their flagship Plasma Enhancer model, the PE1000 Professional, offers: Serial Digital Interface (SDI), HDMI and Hi-Definition compatibility as integral design elements. This processor range is set to change the previously accepted picture quality standards for Plasma screens, LCD TFT displays and projectors.

The newest addition to the Pixel Magic range is the HD Mediabox™, a high definition, hard disk drive, media player giving instant access to all your high definition video, digital music, digital photos and DVD files; whether they are stored on the optional internal hard disk drive, your personal computer, USB HDD or Network Attached Storage box.

Pixel Magic has a very simple goal: "To provide the finest state-of-the-art video components for the global consumer electronic market."

High Definition & Network Media Player. HDMi Ouptut. iTunes Compatible

The MB100 HD MediaBox™ is a high definition HDD (hard disk drive) media player giving instant access to all your high definition video, digital music, digital photos and DVD files no matter where they are stored – whether on its optional internal hard disk drive (HDD), on your personal computer, USB HDD or Network Attached Storage box.

With a High Definition digital scaler providing resolutions up to 1080p, the HD MediaBox provides the perfect link between PC and Plasma Screen, LCD TFT or Projector. Multiple video outputs are provided including HDMI, VGA / Component Video, S-video and Composite video.

Video media compatibility is extensive with support for MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV9 / WMVHD, DivX™, XviD and DVD .ISO; and .VOB files. All can be output via the digital HDMI connection allowing a completely digital path from source to screen. A total of ten video profiles are available allowing precise tailoring of picture quality for each media type.

Optimised video quality is not the HD MediaBox’s only strength. Great sound quality is assured through a 24-bit/192kHz audio DAC from Analog Devices, ultra-low noise Op Amps from Burr-Brown® and exclusively developed timing circuitry. Superb audio processing means that the HD MediaBox can act as a reference quality CD server storing thousands of CDs!

What’s more, the Audiophile Edition (MB200) adds a low jitter TCXO (temperature compensated crystal oscillator) to dramatically improve spaciousness, clarity, impact, and purity, providing the highest quality audio playback available in any network media player.

Digital optical, coaxial, and analogue outputs are provided, delivering the highest possible sound quality to any home theatre or stereo system.

Audio media compatibility is equally extensive with support for MPEG 1 (layers I, II and III), PCM WAV, WMA and AAC files. With AAC compatibility, your entire iTunes library can be selected via the MediaBox’s on-screen-display, and played through any hi-fi system.

For those with a digital camera the MediaBox provides exciting possibilities. Whether using a point-and-shoot camera or professional digital SLR the MediaBox allows you to view every image at full resolution. No longer are you limited to the computer screen, your treasured memories can now be viewed life size! All popular image formats are supported JPEG, GIF, BMP and PNG.

All media files can be retrieved either from hard drives connected directly to the MediaBox or through its network connection. As a network player, multiple MediaBoxes can be connected to the same network with each player providing a unique output. This arrangement enables multiple albums or video files to be simultaneously selected and played from the same media collection.

The MediaBox’s aluminium alloy case negates the need for a fan, even when the optional internal hard drive is fitted. A backlit remote simplifies operation in low light, while a discrete IR input provides seamless integration with numerous multi-room and control systems.
